Obedience Training

Our Obedience Training Program teaches your puppy basic obedience and good manners. Both you and your dog will receive a one on one training and graduate with honors.

Each program includes three (3) 30-minute Owner-Dog training sessions.

  • In-home sessions are available upon request
  • Your investment: $50 per 30-minute session.

  • *All dogs are evaluated prior to training to set clear goals and expectations.
  • *To be accepted into our Basic Obedience Training Program, your dog must be at least 4 months old.

We work with most breeds and sizes HOWEVER, we do require an assessment prior to your canines acceptance into our program.

Puppy Headstart

The Puppy Head Start Program is the very best way to introduce your new puppy to the life of the hunting retriever. We recommend starting your pup in this program between 2 and 5 months old.

Our headstart program is an introduction to birds, whistles, gunshots, and water. This program is specifically designed to maximize the first 6-months of your puppy’s life when they are at their most critical period of development and learning. It is also easier to develop positive behaviors versus trying to break bad behaviors.

We take a limited number of puppies for this program because it takes consistency and time to socialize puppies properly. Socialization is a significant step in building the foundation for hunting dogs' development.

This is a 1-month program

RETRIEVER TRAINING

Gun Dog

Basic to Advanced

We strive to produce a complete hunting companion based on the dog’s natural ability.

Red Flats Retrievers believes in "positive reinforcement training" and allows your dog to mature and grow into their skill level. As with our Obedience and Puppy Head Start programs; we will never push a dog faster than it is ready to learn just to produce quicker results. We do not believe that makes for a loyal hunting companion.

Our training methods start with a strong foundation. Obedience skills are at the forefront. As your dog progresses we will weave in drills that bring out your dog's guide us to determine your dog's skill level, and what he/she is capable of.

Basic Gun Dog Training
  • Basic Obedience Training
  • Force Fetching/Hold / Bird to Hand
  • Whistle Commands with Basic Handling Drills
  • Single Land and Water Marks
  • Exposure to Birds; live flyers, ducks, cripples as well as dummy and Collar Conditioning
